So today I set aside my fears and hesitation to just jump in with two feet. As fearful as I am to begin this small adventure however, I know that my passion and my purpose is to love God and love people. If I can do that everyday with or without a camera strap around my neck- it's a good life.

I have really enjoyed taking pictures of my family for the sake of time, money and well, there are a lot of kiddos- so getting them to be good and smile is a trick only an auntie knows how to do!

However people haven't always paid me for my picture taking. So let us start from the beginning. ByReba Photography in Maryville, MO is where it all started. I babysat for Reba and enjoyed getting to know her several years ago. When I got engaged 5 years ago, (time is flying) there was no doubt I wanted her to take our engagement and wedding photos and she did incredible. A couple years after we were married she called and asked if I had some photography interest and would like to be a second shooter (Assistant) when she goes and shoots some weddings- my response was "YES, but are you sure!?? I have no clue what I'm doing!!" She laughed and said I had personality and somewhat of a good eye for pictures so she could teach the rest... She has been an absolute jewel in teaching me how to use a camera, lighting, tips on locations, time of day and really my photography mom and mentor. Recently she has quit taking new families and so with hesitation I asked if she'd be okay with me taking families or referring those individuals who come to her on to me- she said YES!

I just love taking pictures and capturing some of life's most precious memories. I don't call myself a professional photographer, I'm just a picture taker. I still have so much to learn and I pray that I can reflect Christ to everyone who encounters me through this journey. So here we go--

Okay, so I struggle with creativity this week. I wasn't sure what to talk about in this blog and even now as I type...i'm not sure where...
